Youth esports league and camp organizer, NXT UP Esports, has teamed up with Greater Texas Esports (GTXE) to bring esports training and development programs to students of Texas.
Together, NXT UP Esports and GTXE will develop programs that teach players gaming skills and strategies as well as character development traits. Their first camp program will launch in the summer of 2022.
Luke Zelon, founder of NXT UP Esports said of the partnership: “We’re excited to formally engage with students in Texas through this partnership with Greater Texas Esports. Players from Texas have always been some of our most involved and we look forward to that trend continuing.”
NXT UP Esports will operate the programs and develop new curriculums while GTXE will connect with their network of students across Texas to engage in the camps. Players will be able to choose the game they are most passionate about and learn new skills to accelerate their growth.
“Esports is on the rise, and it's important for kids to be involved early,” said DeAndre Smith of Greater Texas Esports. The organization believes that if you get your child into esports from a young age then they will grow up with an interest in gaming which can last their entire life.
“Esports is a great way for kids to socialize and compete with one another. It also teaches them important skills such as teamwork, communication, and problem-solving. Getting your child involved in esports from a young age can help them develop a lifelong interest in gaming and set the foundation for a successful future in the esports industry,” Smith continued.
